I have served on a City Commission before (City of Riverside) and am familiar with the process. Through a prior business, I was able to provide scholarship funding for underserved UCR students as I believe reading comprehension and education are essential to the growth and development of the community and the people it serves. A library provides an entre to all to increase their knowledge and access to learning resources. As a member of the Senior Scribes Creative Writing Class, I have been fortunate to be self-published, and would like to see similar opportunities open up for all shared members of the community whose voices and storytelling can enrichen our vibrant community. At the moment, l am part of a group of Hispanic senior writers working with Darlene Cervantes and the library to feature Hispanic writers and authors as part of the library celebrations for Hispanic Heritage month in October. 2 Revised June 10, 2025
