TITLE SUMMARY: Resolution Appointing City Treasurer (Reso. No. 2026-xx)
DISTRICT: All Districts
Recommendation(s)
That the City Council:
1. Adopt Resolution No. 2026-xx Appointing a City Treasurer.
SUMMARY
California Government Code Section 34856 provides that when the office of the City Treasurer is made appointive, the appointment shall be made by the City Council. Due to the vacancy of the Chief Financial Officer, Launa Jimenez has been acting in the Chief Financial Officer capacity since she oversees these functions as part of her normal role as Assistant City Manager (Administration), which the Council appointed her to City Treasurer on December 16, 2025. The successful open recruitment of a new Chief Financial Officer necessitates a new Treasurer to be appointed.
DISCUSSION
Since the incorporation of the City, the Chief Financial Officer (or Finance Director) also held the title and responsibility of City Treasurer. After a successful open recruitment, the City Manager has appointed Felicia London to the position of Chief Financial Officer .
