Born in Massachusetts and raised in
Rwanda, East Africa, I have lived in
countries throughout Southeast Asia,
Central America, and in several US
states. I attended schools in Redlands,
Loma Linda, Calimesa, and Riverside,
where I currently reside. I hold a
master’s degree in Religion, and have
served as a high school teacher in
Bangkok, Thailand, the media/collegiate
pastor of a 1,500 member Inland SoCal
church, the managing online editor of a
non-profit journal, and now, a freelance
artist. I am a husband, a father of two,
and an active member of the IE arts
community.
My goal as an artist is to enrich my own community and
surrounding communities with art that is aesthetically
pleasing, culturally relevant, and uplifting. Through my painted wood cutouts, usually constructed with reclaimed materials, and my graphic design work, I hope to create visual imagery that is appropriate for and inspiring to people of all ages. Through my involvement in the arts community in Inland SoCal, I have seen the way that art transforms communities as it has done in Riverside where I live and work. I’ve learned creative tools as I’ve worked with other artists, and I have built a body of work that is sometimes whimsical, sometimes serious, and always looking for the good in the world.
