City of Moreno Valley Main Branch Library 25480 Alessandro Blvd. Mural Description: This Proposal is for the City of Moreno Valley Art Council at the Main Branch Library on 25480 Alessandro Blvd. For the removal of Cesar Chavez on my existing mural. In 2024 my design for the My Moval Mural Project was selected for the Main Branch Library with the theme being Social Justice. At the time, news on the pain Cesar Chavez caused wasn’t out and I only knew him as an important figure in the American Labor Union and Confounding United Farm Workers Union, so I added him to my mural. I thought it was important to add a figure that fought for the Latino Community . However, due to the recent news I would like to replace him with Dolores Huerta instead. She fought just as hard for the Immigrants and Farm workers and I believe she is a better figure to represent not only the Latino community, but women as well. So in solidarity with her and all women who have experienced some kind of abuse, I believe Dolores Huerta is a better Social justice advocate to showcase on this mural. Important details: I will paint over Cesar Chavez’s portrait and replace it with Dolores Huerta in the same black and white style the rest of the figures are in. I will use the same high quality Professional grade acrylic paint I used when I first completed the mural. Timeline - Deposit for project design and material costs. - Design and Mockup (1 week). - Approve design, open to 2 free revisions - Once approved, purchase supplies/ equipment(1 day). - Mural execution (1 week).
