DISCUSSION
The Parks and Community Services Department will host the City’s 2026 Annual Fun Color Run for Moreno Valley residents on Saturday, November 14, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at the Moreno Valley Civic Center Amphitheater parking lot. Organizers expect around 750 participants for this year’s event. Runners, joggers, and walkers will start at 9:00 a.m. on a two-mile course, with the option to be sprayed with vibrant, nontoxic, eco-friendly powders made from cornstarch. After the run, participants will gather for closing remarks and prize announcements.

The Fun Color Run Path of Travel:

Participants will exit the Civic Center Amphitheater parking lot onto Frederick Street, heading north to Alessandro Boulevard. They will turn right onto Alessandro, then proceed east toward Graham Street. At Graham, they'll turn right and head south onto Brodiaea Avenue, then turn west. At Brodiaea, they'll go west to Frederick Street, turn right, then left onto Calle San Juan De Los Lagos, heading west toward Veterans Way.

Turning right onto Veterans Way, they will proceed north to Veterans Avenue, reaching the west entrance of the parking lot for the finish line.

ALTERNATIVES

1. Approve and authorize the recommended street closures for the 2026 Annual Fun Color Run event in concurrence with the Moreno Valley Police Department and the Public Works Director/City Engineer. Staff recommends this alternative as it will allow a thorough process to ensure the safety of staff and participants.

2. Do not approve and authorize the recommended street closures for the 2026 Annual Fun Color Run event in concurrence with the Moreno Valley Police Department and the Public Works Director/City Engineer. Staff does not recommend this alternative as businesses and residents will need to be advised of the proposed street closures as soon as possible.
