Dear City Council and CFAC,
I have a question regarding this sentence on page 3:
"Measure E was passed in 2020 and increased the City’s sales tax rate by 1%, replacing the 2006 voter-adopted Measure Q sales tax of 0.5% and making the total combined sales tax 1.5%." [bolding mine]
It's my understanding that Measure E is in addition to, not a replacement for Measure Q.
Would it be helpful to have the language of Measure Q in front of you along with Measure E? Measure Q money was specifically not to be used for salaries, employee benefits, or capital projects.
Sincerely,
Betty Winholtz
