Dear council
We all know you are responsible for hiring the City Manager and the City Attorney. All other hiring is the responsibility of the City Manager.
Although I have only had a few brief interactions with our new City Manager, Yvonne Kimball---I have a sense that she is hardworking, bright, and doing an excellent job. Can you imagine walking into her position with a stalled $160Mm capital project, staff turnover as higher paying jobs are available for many elsewhere, and major looming controversial capital projects (BESS, OSW)? And let's not forget our vocal and highly involved residents.
It's a tough job for anyone---and I am glad Ms Yvonne Kimball has been hired to help us through it all.
