AGENDA CORRESPONDENCE

CORRESPONDENCE RECEIVED BY THE

CITY COUNCIL FOR PUBLIC REVIEW

PRIOR TO THE MEETING
AGENDA NO: 4.a and 4.b
MEETING DATE: Sept 10, 2024 Closed Session

2 "Property Negotiator: Hemant Patel; Various Potentially Interested Parties" One negotiating party is identified, but the term "various potentially interested parties" is vague and does not meet the standard of the Brown Act because no name is given.

Item 4b also meets 3 of the 4 requirements, but it also has the same issue regarding Negotiating parties. It states, "Property Negotiator(s): Various Potentially Interested Parties." In this case, not one "name of party" is specified.

These items should be accurately re-posted, and then heard.

Sincerely,
Betty Winholtz

I am wriƟng in support of conƟnuing the use of 781 Market Avenue as the Let’s Get Tuned yoga and sound studio.

Since their opening I have been a member and have enjoyed watching the business grow with the addiƟon of more classes focused on maintaining and improving health of the parƟcipants. In addiƟon, there is a sense of community among the members and guest parƟcipants.

As a resident of Los Osos for the last 40 years, I am now spending more Ɵme in Morro Bay for shopping and meals. I also enjoy taking my Los Osos and SLO friends to classes at Let’s Get Tuned.

Please allow Let’s Get Tuned to conƟnue their offerings and services to the community in this locaƟon that is so conducive to their offerings.

Dear Esteemed Council Members,
My name is Corinna Roth and I have lived in this community for 22years. I appreciate the community focus and engagement of our ciƟzens here.

One of the places where community is being built and where I feel supported and nourished as a resident here, is at the Lets Get Tuned Yoga Center located at 781 Market Avenue. I understand that this beauƟful historic building is for sale and that Natalie and John the owners of this community gem are wanƟng and able to purchase this building and to conƟnue building a place of refuge and nourishment for locals and visitors alike to grow, relax, and feel connecƟon with the broader community.

As Council Members represenƟng and serving the interests of the ciƟzens here, I am reaching out to you for your support in selling this beauƟful historic Morro Bay building to the Lets Get Tuned owners. They will preserve this historic treasure for all of us to enjoy in the years to come.

I hope that you will be part of making Morro Bay a place where locals are prioriƟzed and visitors are welcomed and included in the growing wellness community that culƟvates greater inclusion, healing, and general wellness that adds to a kinder and more peaceful community.

Thank you for your consideraƟon.

Respecƞully,
Corinna Roth

Dear City of Morro Bay,
Please understand that the Let’s Get Tuned Studio is a home for healing and community for so many local residents. It has been a huge contributor to my personal well-being in the last couple years since it opened. Natalie and Jon are community welcoming, loving humans who make Morro Bay feel more like home to me. Thank you for considering all of the opƟons for the city, but a large hotel replacing a healing and yoga studio is how you show that small town community maƩers less than capital and tourism (which are thriving as is).

Respecƞully,
Nico Nani

Morro Bay City Council,
I have been living on the Central Coast for 10+ years and I am very involved in creaƟng community for families with many local groups I have led and organized, for parents and kids to connect in nature. There is nothing more special and important to life than “community” and making connecƟons with others… And this is exactly what Natalie and Jon have created with Let’s Get Tuned Yoga and Sound bath studio. They have created such a wonderful, sacred, safe, and beauƟful space that so many different people, from all ages and walks of life, come to share for their soul, body, & mind to be upliŌed and nourished.

I have been a member of Let’s Get Tuned since this last January 2024 and Let’s Get Tuned has become my home away from home. It is what gets me through my days as a homeschool mom with two acƟve boys. I look forward and schedule my days around the classes I aƩend at Let’s Gat Tuned. It has also become a special weekly ritual to aƩend Family night sound bath with my two young boys. I aƩend a variety of classes meditaƟon, Qi Gong, Yoga, sound bath etc. that has been my weekly soul nourishing medicine and crucial for my mental health. Natalie and Jon have not only created a space to parƟcipate in yoga and sound bath but have created a wonderful and beauƟful community with full-heartedly serving and connecƟng others. Let’s Get Tuned is a sanctuary. It is my Sanctuary but also many others who come from afar to visit or those locally in our community. I have personally experienced coming to classes with emoƟons or challenges and through this sacred space and tools/ modaliƟes taught and performed in class, I have been able to heal and grow. Let’s Get Tuned is such a special place! It is my Home, It is my Community, It is my Sanctuary! Please conƟnue to allow this place to be here and serve and bring our community together! Deep GraƟtude,
Hayley Bingham

Let’s Get Tuned is a destination that offers healthy opportunities in a family and community based center. They offer workshops, special and weekly classes, community outreach and cooperation in an establishment that allows others to connect with each other. They are interested in improving the community of Morro Bay through there services.

The correct decision to continue to enhance the community of Morro Bay would be to establish Let’s Get Tuned as a permanent part of the community in their present location.

Dear council,
I would like to express my opinion regarding the building for sale that currently houses Lets get tuned yoga studio.

Please allow the yoga studio to STAY. It is an amazing, comforƟng, and healing place. It’s good for the community. So much beƩer than another hotel.

Thank you for your Ɵme.

My name is JusƟne Heinsen. Unfortunately, I am out of state on September 10th so I will not be able to aƩend the city council meeƟng and offer my appreciaƟon to the council for renƟng Morro Bay’s building to “Let’s Get Tuned” Yoga and health center. It is such a beauƟful and healthy addiƟon to the town. My girlfriends and I drive from Monterey County specifically to spend Ɵme at Let’s Get Tuned (눔눕눌눖눒눓눗and then enjoy your lovely town’s eateries). It is my sincere hope that you will see the exquisite giŌ you and your council members have been instrumental in bringing to the community. This business is a treasure. I understand that the dollar drives many if not most of the decisions that are made for the city but in this situaƟon the cost for losing this business which is such a giŌ to so many of us is just too high. Please, take this into consideraƟon before you make a decision that will cost Morro Bay this refuge. 뛴뛵뛶뛷뛸뛹뜆뛺뛻뛼뛽뛾뛿뜀뜁뜂뜃뜄뜅뜇 Thank you Sent from my iPhone

I am wriƟng to express my full support for this business and the owners who are operaƟng. Let’s get tuned! We don’t need another hotel, and I have enjoyed aƩendance at this facility as well! It’s unique to the area and a beauƟful locaƟon. Please give them more Ɵme and the community. Will love you for it.

Sincerely,
Jillian Jensen

2 In closing, after looking at the statistics within the city of Morro Bay we are convinced another hotel is not needed. Most hotels can not fill the rooms to full capacity throughout the year. I am pretty sure many of the other hotel owners would not look at this proposed project with favor if they cannot fill their own hotels to capacity. Please consider those long term business owners and please consider allowing "Let's Get Tuned" grow, thrive, and prosper.

I am sure Morro Bay won't be sorry.

Sincerely,
Helena and Ron Lake

Dear City Council,
My name is Michael Ruffner and I live in Cambria ca and am begging you to not sell or tear down the building to make way for another hotel. Lets get Tuned does so much for the community and has had a posiƟve impact on my mental health by what they offer.

City Council,
It has come to my aƩenƟon that the building on Market Street is up for sale. And the city will decide its fate. I also understand tearing down the current building and building a new hotel is being considered. I also understand the current fill rate for hotels is close to 50%.

I am a local resident and have taken many classes at Get Tuned. I feel they are an asset to the community. As such, I would like the Council to vote against a new hotel. I would like the Council to conƟnue renƟng to Get Tuned.

Thank You!

Hi there,
As a home owner in Morro Bay, I feel it very necessary to speak out about the potenƟal building of another hotel in our liƩle town. I truly adore the yoga studio Let’s Get Tuned. I would be so disappointed if our council allowed for the removal of such an essenƟal morro bay community small business. Natalie and Jon are wonderful humans running a very success business that makes me feel like a healthier individual. I know many others that feel the same as me. The current locaƟon is BEAUTIFUL with the large windows looking out on the ocean and the rock and even the sunset during classes.

Please don’t allow this to happen!
Thank you,
Janie Willheim
