City Council Special Meeting - December 10, 2024
1. ESTABLISH QUORUM AND CALL TO ORDER

Mayor Wixom called the meeting to order at 4:02 p.m. with all members present.

Aaron Ochs, Morro Bay, thanked Council Members Barton and Ford for their service and expressed gratitude for Citizens for Estero Bay Preservation support of Measure A-24. He suggested the City inform the Coastal Commission and California Energy Commission Vistra did not complete good faith negotiations with the City and did not exercise all remedies available prior to opting in to AB 205.
Barry Branin, Morro Bay, expressed appreciation for members of the Council and community members who supported Measure A-24.
Clint Weirick, on behalf of Senator John Laird, congratulated the newly elected members and thanked Council Members Ford and Barton for their service.
Janice Peters, Morro Bay, thanked the outgoing and congratulated newly elected council members.
Christine Johnson, Morro Bay, offered sincere thanks for outgoing Council Members Barton and Ford and welcomed newly seated Council Members Eckles and Luffee.
Aislyn and Alexa Ford expressed pride and admiration for their mom's service on the City Council, thanked Council Member Barton for her service, and congratulated newly elected Council Members Eckles and Luffee.
Lynda Merrill, Morro Bay, thanked Council Members Ford and Barton for their dedication to the City.
Julie Cravotto, on behalf of Assemblymember Dawn Addis and their office, thanked outgoing council members and recognized Council Member Ford's dedication to the City and State.
Diego Amaro thanked Council Member Ford for her dedication to the City of Morro Bay.
Betsy Gaudette-Cross, Morro Bay, expressed her appreciation for the City Council.
Assemblymember Dawn Addis welcomed the new members to the Council and thanked outgoing Council Members Ford and Barton for their incredible work.
Alexis Arrazola thanked Council Member Ford for her service.

Adopt Resolution No. 72-24 declaring the results of the November 5, 2024, General Municipal Election, and Direct staff to update the language in the General Plan consistent with Measure A-24 with all due haste, and Direct staff to initiate the process for a Zoning Code amendment to indicate that changing the land use designation for the specific parcels requires voter approval in accordance with Measure A-24.
