To the Morro Bay City Council:
I am wriƟng to say that I am against the re-hire of a Morro Bay City Manager who had been forced to resign in 2013. She is already geƫng a pension from the city and now she is being recruited by Carla Wixom to once again manage our city and basically have us taxpayers pay her a second salary! She did enough damage when she was the city manager previously by delaying the construcƟon of our sewer treatment plant causing our city huge cost increases and potenƟal catasrophe. I do not think the community deserves to have to suffer her biases once again, aŌer she had already proved she does not represent the direcƟon the community wants to go.

I am very disturbed about Walter Heath’s leƩer which talks negaƟvely about two ciƟzens in our community who have dedicated so much Ɵme and energy into making our city safer and beƩer. NegaƟvity is not the way to make change or improvements. It shows a lack of character and in this case I would say sexism. I am pleased with the decision to make Andrea Lueker Interim City Manager.

Dear Mayor and City Council Members:
Do you recall the great flood in January 2023, when our creek beds overflowed? Fortunately, our city had just started up our new wastewater sewer plant operaƟon. Because as it so happened, all the operaƟng parts of our 68-year-old wastewater treatment plant near the beach were destroyed by that flood. And, had they sƟll been in operaƟon, it would most likely have created a public health emergency. During her tenure as City Manager, Ms. Leuker did not support the building of a new wastewater treatment plant.
Had the new City Council not replaced Ms. Leuker at that Ɵme, and moved in the direcƟon of rebuilding a new wastewater treatment plant, the catastrophic event that could have happened to our city from that flood in 2023 would have been insurmountable.
Why would we want to go back to the days under Ms. Leuker, knowing what we know now?
You don’t hire someone who was let go by a previous City Council. They had good reasons for their decision. Please respect their decision. CorporaƟons would not re-hire a person under these circumstances.

Please support Andrea Lueker for interim City Manager. She knows what needs to be done and how to do it. Do not listen to the ranƟng of Walter Heath and his gang of hoodlums. They will return our City to the “Dark Ages” of cruelty and witch hunts. Believe me, I lived through it, barely.

Dear Council Members,
Since I am unable to aƩend your hearing re installing Andrea Lueker as Interim City Manager, I am wriƟng to you in full support of this endeavor.
I have known and worked with Andrea for nearly two years as a member of React Alliance and I cannot think of a beƩer person to step into the role of Interim City Manager. She is as sharp as they come, uƩerly ethical, and commiƩed to the wellbeing of all members of her community. She is greatly admired.
Any aƩempt by any individual to discredit Andrea professionally or to smear her personal reputaƟon must be met with total skepƟcism. Such an aƩempt could only be made by an opportunisƟc party wishing to promote an agenda that is NOT in the best interests of our Morro Bay community.
I urge you to extend your unqualified support to Andrea as she agrees to accept this important role in our city government.
