Appoint two applicants to the Mt. Shasta Recreation & Parks District Board.
BACKGROUND & SUMMARY:
The terms for three of the members of the Mt. Shasta Recreation & Parks District Board will expire on June 30, 2024; all three seats are to be filled by appointments made by the City Council.
A notice of vacancy was published in the local newspaper, on the City’s website, and on the NextDoor social media site. These notices requested that interested members of the public submit an application to the Deputy City Clerk. The original deadline was extended due to lack of applications received. Only two applications were received by the extended deadline date; the applicants are Bruce Johnston and John Roberts.
Staff will continue to advertise the final vacancy until an application is received.
Previously, the Rec and Parks District Board provided interview questions for Board Member positions; those questions are attached for Council’s use.
