Background: As a part of its contract with CALPERS, the City must make up the difference between CALPERS funds and pension obligations. CALPERS has implemented gradual rate increases to help cities adjust to rising costs over time. However, as interest grows, so does the overall cost to the City.
Adopting a Pension Management Policy can help the City mitigate its liabilities and provide guidance for budgetary decisions.

Recommended Council Action: Approve Resolution CCR-25-XX, Adopting a Pension Management Policy
Background: The City’s Independent Auditor, Charles Pillon, CPA, has completed the audit of the financial statements for the 2023-2024 fiscal year.
