JECT: SUPPORT FOR GUARANTEED BASIC INCOME PILOT PROGRAM - ELEVATE MV H
onorable Mayor and City Councilmembers:

Silicon Valley Community Foundation is excited to see the City of Mountain View explore a Guaranteed Basic Income Pilot and we want to express our support for the Elevate MV program you have created.

SVCF is providing support to three other guaranteed income pilots in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties, and we believe they can play an important role in addressing income inequality in our region. It is also good to see that the City of Mountain View has chosen, as the focus of the Elevate MV program, extremely low-income families that are the most challenged economically in Silicon Valley.

I met with your program staff on February 24, 2022, to discuss support and a grant opportunity for the Mountain View pilot program that was adopted on February 22, 2022. SVCF is pleased to let the Council know that we will provide a grant for flexible funding to Elevate MV.

We look forward to working together and appreciate your continued leadership on the issues impacting our community’s most vulnerable residents.

Sincerely,
