From:Charles RobertsTo:City CouncilSubject:Public Hearing for 1265 Montecito Ave 430-10-11-22F020-2/DLDate:Thursday, December 1, 2022 5:55:37 PMCAUTION: EXTERNAL EMAIL - Ensure you trust this email before clicking on any links orattachments.I would like to add a comment regarding the development at 1265 Montecito Ave.I live at which is on the same block asthe proposed development and I will be able to view the development from my town house. Ialso back up to the Midpeninsula ShoreBreeze Apartments at 460 Shoreline Blvd. andconsider them to be good neighbors.I feel the new development at 1265 Montecito Ave is a good location for additionalapartments to be built. However, building them 5 stories tall is completely out ofcharacter with the rest of the community. There is a lot of apartment andtownhome development in this immediate area and none of it is above 3 stories. 5 storyconstruction also exceeds the height of the surrounding trees and there will be no way for thebuilding to blend into the neighborhood. We will have 2 stories (4 and 5) rising above the treeline staring down at the surrounding residential neighborhood.High rise with family units (multiple people per unit) means a lot of people. 85 units with 3, 4 or more people per unit is a lot of people for a modest size lot. Keeping theconstruction to 3 stories would still allow for 51 units of affordable housing to be built andwould allow the buildings to better blend into the surrounding neighborhood.SincerelyCharles Roberts
