A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOUNTAIN VIEW APPOINTING ______ TO SERVE AS A MEMBER OF THE CITY COUNCIL UNTIL A SUCCESSOR QUALIFIES FOLLOWING THE NOVEMBER 5, 2024 GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION
WHEREAS, Section 504 of the Mountain View City Charter authorizes the City Council to fill a vacancy on the City Council by appointment; and
WHEREAS, Sally Lieber resigned her seat on the City Council effective December 30, 2022; and
WHEREAS, the City Council determined at its January 5, 2023 Special Meeting to fill the vacancy on the City Council created by the resignation of Sally Lieber by appointment; and
WHEREAS, the City Council determined at its January 24, 2023 Regular Meeting to interview five of 10 applicants for the vacancy; and
WHEREAS, subsequent to the January 24, 2023 Regular Meeting, Michael Kasperzak, one of the five applicants selected for interview, withdrew his application from consideration; and
WHEREAS, the City Council interviewed at its January 30, 2023 Special Meeting: Emily Ann Ramos, Ronit Bryant, John McAlister, and Chris Clark; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED: that the City Council of the City of Mountain View hereby appoints __________ as member of the City Council to serve until a successor qualifies following the November 5, 2024 General Municipal Election.
