These two organizations have teamed up to deliver a powerful workforce development plan to address a gap in a community that expresses a desire to be financailly secure. A grant of $75,000 will help them meet and excced the deliverables to address economic mobility for the most vulnerable in our community.

The LAMVCF and Reach SV American Rescue Plan Act Funding for Workforce Development plan has our full support.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Warmly,

Jose Santos

Dear City Council Members of Mountain View,I am writing to express my strong support for the grant application submitted by Reach Silicon Valley for funding to support their joint workforce development plan with Los Altos Mountain View Community Foundation. As a member that serves in this community and volunteers with Reach Silicon Valley as well as supported the city’s Spanish Language Civic Leadership Academy, I have witnessed firsthand the important work that this organization does to provide support services for the most vulnerable in Mountain View. Not only do they provide the resources that are needed but do so with compassion, dignity, and love.Reach Silicon Valley has been a cornerstone in our community for many years, and their workforce development plan will be an integral part of their work to meet the needs of our community. A community that has expressed the desire to have access to tools and supports that will help them financially thrive. Reach Silicon Valley’s proposal aims at giving community members an opportunity to reach those financial goals and build long-term economic empowerment.I believe that the support provided by this grant will be instrumental in allowing Reach Silicon Valley to expand the number of families that they can serve, which in turn will provide even greater benefits to the community. With this grant, Reach Silicon Valley will be able to recruit a cohort of up to 30 local food entrepreneurs (women, under-resourced, some undocumented, Spanish speaking, predominantly single parents, and Mountain View residents) connect them, provide the skills needed to get their entrepreneurial ideas off the ground along with financial coaching. This is life changing work.I urge the City Council to strongly consider the grant application submitted by Reach Silicon Valley, and to provide the full $75,000 in funding support to help them continue their vital work. The success of this workforce program will have a positive impact on the entire community, and I believe that this grant is a crucial step in ensuring that the most vulnerable in Mountain View have a strong path to economic mobility.Thank you for your time and consideration.Sincerely,Jose SantosDirector, Community Outreach From: David Bini
