A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOUNTAIN VIEW APPROPRIATING $771,975 IN THE GENERAL NON-OPERATING FUND FOR
WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT AND JOB TRAINING PROGRAMS AND
SMALL BUSINESS ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS
WHEREAS, during the course of a fiscal year, the City Council may take actions that change or modify the City’s existing and approved budgets; and
WHEREAS, the City Council approved the appropriation of $500,000 to support job training and work force development programs and $500,000 to support small businesses, totaling $1,000,000, in the Fiscal Year 2022-23 Adopted Budget; and
WHEREAS, on May 9, 2023, Council authorized the use of the $1,000,000 for work force development and small business assistance programs and increased the appropriation by $95,975, bringing the total funding amount to $1,095,975; and
WHEREAS, all of the funding requests advance Council’s Strategic Priorities of Community for All and Economic Vitality and provide critical support for small businesses, work force development, and job training opportunities to Mountain View’s most vulnerable residents; and
WHEREAS, only $324,000 of the funding was encumbered before the Fiscal Year 2022-23 deadline on June 30, 2023 , and the remaining $7 71,975 was returned to the General Non - Operating Fund’s fund balance on July 1, 2023; and
WHEREAS, in order to fulfill Council’s direction on May 9, 2023, the remaining $771,975 will need to be rebudgeted from Fiscal Year 2022-23 to Fiscal Year 2023-24; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED: by the City Council of the City of Mountain View that the recitals set forth above are true and correct and hereby incorporated by this reference as if fully set forth in their entirety; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED: that the City Council of the City of Mountain View hereby appropriates $771,975 from the General Non -Operating Fund to be used for work force development and job training programs and small business assistance programs; and be it -2-
FURTHER RESOLVED: that this Resolution shall be effective upon the date of its adoption.
