RECOMMENDATION
Adopt a Resolution of the City Council of the City of Mountain View Reappointing Alex Nuñez and Appointing Paul Donahue to the Environmental Planning Commission and Appointing Alex Brown to the Rental Housing Committee, to be read in title only, further reading waived (Attachment 1 to the Council report).
BACKGROUND
On October 17, 2023, the City Council interviewed three applicants for two upcoming openings on the Environmental Planning Commission, with four year terms starting January 1, 2024, and five applicants for one current vacancy on the Rental Housing Committee for an unexpired term ending on April 17, 2025. The City Council made recommendations for appointments as outlined in Attachment 1.
The appointment of Alex Brown, current alternate member to the Rental Housing Committee, creates a vacancy in the alternate member position. Pursuant to Government Code § 54974, the City Clerk’s Office will post an unscheduled vacancy notice on November 8, 2023. Unless otherwise directed by the Council, the City Clerk’s Office will bring an item back to the Council for reconsideration of the applications received in the pre vious recruitment period to fill the alternate member vacancy if no additional applications are received during the 10 -day posting period under Government Code § 54974(a).
