SUBJECT: 2024 Council Transportation Committee Meeting Schedule
RECOMMENDATION
Approve the 2024 Council Transportation Committee meeting schedule.
BACKGROUND AND ANALYSIS
Historically, Council Transportation Committee (CTC) meetings have been scheduled on an as-needed basis. With the high number of transportation projects, programs, and initiative s, more frequent CTC meetings have been needed to provide feedback and make recommendations to the City Council over the last two years . Looking ahead to potential agenda items in 2024, it appears four meetings of the CTC will be needed. To reduce the effort involved in establishing meeting dates on an as-needed basis, staff recommends that the CTC approve a meeting schedule for 2024.
Staff reviewed the 2024 Council meeting dates and other key events to avoid conflicts, and proposes the following 2024 meeting schedule:
• Tuesday, February 6, 6:30 p.m.
• Tuesday, May 7, 6:30 p.m.
• Tuesday, September 3, 6:30 p.m.
• Tuesday, October 29, 6:30 p.m.
Committee members attending conferences that overlap with a CTC m eeting may avail themselves of the provisions of Government Code 54953 to attend the meeting using the “just cause” provision as long as the Committee member participates through both audio and visual technology and publicly discloses at the meeting before any action is taken whether any other individuals 18 years of age or older are present in the room at the remote location and the general nature of the member’s relationship with any such individuals. Use of this provision is limited to two CTC meetings per calendar year.
