A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOUNTAIN VIEW AUTHORIZING TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PARKING LOT 12 FROM
7:30 A.M. THROUGH 2:30 P.M. ON SUNDAY, MARCH 3, 10, AND 17, 2024, FOR USE BY THE CALIFORNIA FARMERS’ MARKET ASSOCIATION AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR DESIGNEE TO AMEND THE LICENSE AGREEMENT WITH THE CALIFORNIA FARMERS’ MARKET ASSOCIATION WHEREAS, the California Farmers’ Market Association is a growers’ organization proposing to operate a certified farmers’ market in accordance with the California Department of Agriculture regulations in downtown Mountain View; and WHEREAS, the California Farmers’ Market Association is willing to provide all necessary services to operate the market, including setup, cleanup, promotion of the temporary move, coordination with the surrounding neighborhood regarding concerns and complaints, etc., and is able to meet City requirements for insurance, liability, etc.; and WHEREAS, Mountain View City Code Section 19.67 prohibits obstruction from free use of streets or parking lots; and WHEREAS, Parking Lot 12, in the block bounded by Bryant Street, Mercy Street, California Street, and Franklin Street, is a suitable temporary location for the March 3, 10, and 17 California Farmers’ Market; WHEREAS, the City of Mountain View and the California Farmers’ Market Association entered into a real property license agreement for Lot 12 access on January 6, 2022; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED: by the City Council of the City of Mountain View that, pursuant to Mountain View City Code Section 19.92, Parking Lot 12 is hereby temporarily closed from 7:30 a.m. through 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, 10, and 17, 2024, as set forth in the recitals above and as may be amended and/or scheduled, to enable the California Farmers’ Market Association use of Lot 12 for a farmer’s market; and be it FURTHER RESOLVED: that the City Manager or designee is authorized to amend the real property license agreement with the California Farmers’ Market Association to allow use of Lot 12 on March 3, 10, and 17, 2024; and be it FURTHER RESOLVED: that staff is hereby directed to post appropriate signage to notice the temporary closure of Parking Lot 12 and provide notification of the closure dates of March 3, 10, and 17, 2024 on the City website. – – – – – – – – – – –
