SUBJECT: 2025 Council Transportation Committee Meeting Schedule
RECOMMENDATION
Approve the 2025 Council Transportation Committee meeting schedule.
BACKGROUND AND ANALYSIS
Historically, Council Transportation Committee (CTC) meetings have been scheduled on an as-needed basis. With the high number of transportation projects, programs, and initiatives, quarterly CTC meetings were initiated in 2023 and 2024 to provide feedback and make recommendations to the City Council. Looking ahead to potential agenda items in 2025, several significant transportation items are planned to come to the CTC, and to balance the agendas, it appears six meetings of the CTC will be needed. Some of t he items expected include the Rengstorff Grade Separation project, the Transportation Demand Management Ordinance, the Active Transportation Plan, and the Miramonte Avenue Phase 2 Preliminary Design Study. To reduce the effort involved in establishing meeting dates on an as -needed basis , staff recommends that the CTC approve a meeting schedule for 2025.
Staff reviewed the 202 5 Council meeting dates and other key events to avoid conflicts and proposes the following 2025 meeting schedule:
• Tuesday, February 4, 6:30 p.m.
• Tuesday, March 4, 6:30 p.m.
• Tuesday, April 1, 6:30 p.m.
• Tuesday May 6, 6:30 p.m.
• Tuesday, September 2, 6:30 p.m.
• Tuesday, November 4, 6:30 p.m.
Committee members attending conferences that overlap with a CTC m eeting may avail themselves of the provisions of Government Code Section 54953 to attend the meeting using the “just cause” provision as long as the Committee member participates through both audio and visual technology and publicly discloses at the meeting before any action is taken whether any other individuals 18 years of age or older are present in the room at the remote location 2025 Council Transportation Committee Meeting Schedule

and the general nature of the member’s relationship with any such individuals. Use of this provision is limited to two CTC meetings per calendar year.
