On November 2 2, 202 4, the Council Appointments Review Committee (CARC) will interview applicants for the Bicycle/Pedestrian Advisory Committee, Downtown Committee, Human Relations Commission, Board of Library Trustees, Parks and Recreation Commission, Performing Arts Committee, Public Safety Advisory Board, Senior Advisory Committee, and Visual Arts Committee.
The Committee can recommend to the City Council appointments to fill the following openings (listed in interview order):
• Reappoint/appoint _____________ to the Bicycle/Pedestrian Advisory Committee for a four-year term beginning January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2028.
• Reappoint/appoint _____________ to the Bicycle/Pedestrian Advisory Committee for a four-year term beginning January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2028.
• Reappoint/appoint _____________ to the Bicycle/Pedestrian Advisory Committee for a four-year term beginning January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2028.
• Reappoint/appoint _____________ to the Downtown Committee (Business-at-Large) for a three-year term beginning January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2027.
• Reappoint/appoint _____________ to the Downtown Committee (Community -at-Large) for a three-year term beginning January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2027.
• Confirm the reappointment of Jamil Shaikh as the Old Mountain View Neighborhood Association’s representative to the Downtown Committee (Neighborhood) for a one -year term beginning January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025. Jamil Shaikh’s term on the Downtown Committee (Neighborhood) expires on December 31, 2024. Jamil is currently running unopposed for the neighborhood liaison position on the Old Mountain View Board, Commission, and Committee Openings

City staff reviewed the applications and has determined that all applicants are qualified to serve on the bodies to which they have applied.
No applications were received for the openings on the Downtown Committee for the Downtown Property Owner and/or Representative of a Business in the Downtown seat.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the CARC set interview questions for the applicants for the Bicycle/Pedestrian Advisory Committee, Downtown Committee, Human Relations Commission, Board of Library Trustees, Parks and Recreation Commission, Performing Arts Committee, Public Safety Advisory Board, Senior Advisory Committee, and Visual Arts Committee, interview applicants pursuant to City Council Policy K -2, and make a recommendation to be considered by the City Council on December 17, 2024.
