SUBJECT: 2026 Council Transportation Committee Meeting Schedule
RECOMMENDATION
Approve the 2026 Council Transportation Committee meeting schedule.
BACKGROUND AND ANALYSIS
Historically, Council Transportation Committee (CTC) meetings have been scheduled on an as-needed basis. Looking ahead to potential agenda items in 2026 , several significant transportation items are planned to come to the CTC. To balance the agendas, it appears three meetings of the CTC will be needed before the summer recess, and one meeting in the Fall. To reduce the effort involved in establishing meeting dates on an as -needed basis , staff recommends that the CTC approve a meeting schedule for 2026.
Staff reviewed the 202 6 Council meeting dates and other key events to avoid conflicts and proposes the following 2026 meeting schedule:
• Tuesday, March 3, 6:00 p.m.
• Tuesday, May 5, 6:00 p.m.
• Tuesday June 16, 6:00 p.m.
• Tuesday, October 6, 6:00 p.m.
Committee members attending conferences that overlap with a CTC m eeting may avail themselves of the provisions of Government Code Section 54953 to attend the meeting using the “just cause” provision as long as the Committee m ember participates through both audio and visual technology and publicly discloses at the meeting before any action is taken whether any other individuals 18 years of age or older are present in the room at the remote location and the general nature of the member’s relationship with any such individuals. Use of this provision is limited to two CTC meetings per calendar year.
