Re: Notice of Property Acquisition - Murrieta Valley Unified School District New Public School Site
Dear City Planner Stiehl and City Clerk McDonald:
The purpose of this letter is to provide notice to the City of Murrieta ("City") regarding the Murrieta Valley Unified School District's ("District") intent to acquire a parcel of land, approximately 21.47 acres (Assessor's Parcel Number 906-670-010), located on the northwest corner of the intersection of Ivy Road and Hayes Road in the City of Murrieta ("Property"). The purpose of this acquisition is for the siting of a new public school campus.
Government Code Section 65402 requires the City's Planning Division to submit its opinion regarding the conformity of the Property, and its proposed acquisition by the District for the siting of a new public school campus, with the City's adopted general plan, within 40 days of receipt of this notice. In addition, Public Resources Code section 21151.2 requires the City's Planning Commission to investigate the proposed Property and within 30 days after receipt of the District's notice submit its written report and any recommendations concerning acquisition of the Property. The District has combined both statutory notice requirements with this letter.
