Applicant: Calvary Murrieta located at 24225 Monroe Avenue, Murrieta and Calvary Murrieta Christian Schools located at 24275 Monroe Avenue, Murrieta. (“Applicant”) The applicant is requesting a Revised Conditional Use Permit which proposes to construct a 4,680 square foot building for the purpose of providing a new location for our youth at both the Church and the School.
This new building, the Youth Center, will be used to house the current middle school and high school age kids who attend ministry events, worship nights, and bible teaching for these Church ministries. In addition, the Church has a school ministry, Calvary Murrieta Christian Schools, that will use the building for worship, bible teaching, and youth events intermittently Monday-Friday during the day. This population currently meets in the modular buildings on campus, along with other programs. The Youth Center will provide a dedicated space for our youth population and provide them with additional space to facilitate their spiritual growth that is tailored to the needs of this specific population.
The Church youth ministries will use the Youth Center several nights a week (approximately 6pm to 8:30pm) and on Sunday mornings (approximately 7:30am to 1:30pm). The school youth population will use the building intermittently during the day Monday through Friday from 8am to 3pm approximately 170 days out of the year. This new building will allow for all our youth populations to have a dedicated space without needing to move throughout the campus to different buildings depending on the event taking place and will be able to meet the needs of both the Church and School at different times during the week.
The Church and School will operate the Youth Center at different times, enabling all parking spaces at both sites to be fully utilized based on the current ministry in session. Calvary Murrieta Church has a total of 315 parking spaces, and Calvary Murrieta Christian School has a total of 184 parking spaces.
The Applicant agrees to a reciprocal parking agreement at the two locations. The School is granted permission to utilize designated spaces within the Church parking lot exclusively during the schools’ days and hours identified above. The Church is granted permission to utilize the school parking lot during weekends and during evenings when the school is not in session or conducting events.
