RESOLUTION NO. 25-4895
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MURRIETA, CALIFORNIA ACCEPTING A GRANT THROUGH THE ALCOHOL POLICING PARTNERSHIP ADMINISTERED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE CONTROL AND AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2025/26 OPERATING BUDGET TO ALLOCATE AND APPROPRIATE THE GRANT FUNDS WHEREAS, The City of Murrieta (“City”) desires to undertake a certain project committed to reducing alcohol-related traffic incidents and enhancing public safety through proactive enforcement, education, and community engagement to be funded in part from funds made available through the Alcohol Policing Partnership (APP) Program administered by the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (hereafter referred to as ABC).
NOW, THEREFORE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MURRIETA, CALIFORNIA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the Chief of Police of the City is authorized to execute on behalf of City, the attached contract, including any extensions or amendments thereof and any subsequent contract with the State in relation thereto.
Section 2. That any liability arising out of the performance of this contract, including civil court actions for damages, shall be the responsibility of the grant recipient and the authorizing agency. The State of California and ABC disclaim responsibility for any such liability.
Section 3. That grant funds received hereunder shall not be used to supplant expenditures controlled by this body.
Section 4. That this award is not subject to local hiring freezes.
Section 5. That the Fiscal Year 25/26 Operating Budget, as adopted by Joint Resolution No. 25-4837 is amended by allocating an increase of $26,000.00 to the Police Department budget revenue account number 42222 and various expense accounts (i.e., overtime, travel, equipment, and other direct cost) under general ledger key 3550030, and approving expenditure of the same for the purposes stated in the Grant.
