RESOLUTION NO. 26-4964
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MURRIETA, CALIFORNIA AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN THE COUNTY OF RIVERSIDE’S URBAN COUNTY PROGRAM FOR FEDERAL FISCAL YEARS 2027, 2028, AND 2029
WHEREAS, the County of Riverside has initiated the next Urban County qualification cycle for federal Fiscal Years 2027, 2028, and 2029 and has requested that participating jurisdictions adopt a resolution confirming participation in the Urban County Program and approve a Joint Metro Agreement; and WHEREAS, the City of Murrieta has elected to participate as unit of local government (Cooperating City) in the County of Riverside’s (County) Urban County Program for Federal Fiscal Years 2027, 2028, and 2029; and WHEREAS, the attached Joint Metro Agreement will allow the County and City to carry-out activities which are funded by Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Home Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) funds, and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG); and WHEREAS, the Joint Metro Agreement will allow the Cooperating City to participate in the Urban County Consolidated Planning Programs.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MURRIETA, CALIFORNIA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Joint Metro Agreement attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit A between the County of Riverside and the City of Murrieta is hereby approved.
Section 2. The Mayor is authorized and directed to execute the Joint Metro Agreement on behalf of the City of Murrieta.
Section 3. The City Manager, or designee, is hereby authorized and directed to execute the Joint Metro Agreement and any related documents necessary to effectuate the City's participation in the County of Riverside Urban County Program for Fiscal Years 2027, 2028, and 2029.
