RESOLUTION NO. 24-4726
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MURRIETA, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A TYPE 1 ENGINE THROUGH A COOPERATIVE PURCHASING PROGRAM IN ACCORDANCE WITH MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 3.08.295 AND ESTABLISHING AN APPROPRIATION IN THE FISCAL YEAR OF DELIVERY USING THE MEASURE T FIRE FLEET REPLACEMENT RESERVE TO FUND COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE PURCHASE AND UPFITTING OF THE TYPE 1 ENGINE WHEREAS, On August 15, 2023, the City Council of the City of Murrieta adopted Resolution No. 23-4699, approving the Fiscal Year 2023/24 Capital Improvement Plan budget, and approving the Capital Improvement Plan for Fiscal Years 2023/24 to 2027/28; and WHEREAS, the City of Murrieta wishes to enter into an agreement with South Coast Fire Equipment-Pierce Manufacturing through the government procurement services of NPP.gov to purchase a Type 1 Engine for $1,169,684.38, and to purchase the upfitting equipment from Johnson Equipment, Motorola Solutions, and LN Curtis for approximately $230,000; and WHEREAS, the City of Murrieta wishes to participate in a cooperative purchasing program as allow by Municipal Code Section 3.08.295; and WHEREAS, the City of Murrieta is requesting approval to allocate the Measure T Fire Fleet Replacement Reserve to fund the Type 1 Engine purchase and upfitting costs during the fiscal year the truck will be delivered, not to exceed $1,400,000.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MURRIETA, CALIFORNIA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the purchase of a Type 1 Engine under the procurement services of the NPP.gov contract with South Coast Fire Equipment-Pierce Manufacturing for $1,170,000 and $230,000 upfitting cost for the equipment purchased from Johnson Equipment, Motorola Solutions, and LN Curtis is approved and authorized in an amount not to exceed $1,400,000.
Section 2. The budget appropriation of $1,400,000.00 is authorized in the fiscal year the Type 1 Engine is delivered.
Section 3. The City Manager is authorized to approve the South Coast Fire Equipment-Pierce Manufacturing proposal and a zero-dollar purchase order to initiate construction of the Type 1 Engine.
