The hardworking restaurant workers will lose business by closing this road and it will be bad for economy.

Also this road is safer closed for children.

This corridor has truly become the 'heart' of downtown Napa. THIS is what Napa's waterfront was meant to be...for our own community to enjoy, as well as for tourists for stroll and enjoy what we have to offer here...outdoor dining, family activities, a romantic getaway, or music in the park. It isn't just about the al fresco dining, it's about the whole vibe this corridor of fers. All of downtown Napa
deserves to be a part of what Napa County has to offer...this particular corridor greatly enhances those opportunities. I contribute to events with the Children's Museum of Napa V alley on a monthly
basis in Veterans Park, and it's wonderful to see families enjoying the area with their kids in a safe and car free zone. Keep the Peace on Main Street!

These businesses survived Covid. They serve our community, which I support. As a member of the community I am not missing one thing by allowing these restaurants to have outdoor dining. If you take this away, for no good reason the sense of community and thriving businesses will be lost.

This is an important pedestrian zone that supports the business of local restaurants and and bars.

There are plenty of other north-south routes through downtown to supplement this. It is a lovely space, and so crucial for these restaurants to have extra dining patio to accommodate our huge tourist population and to make up revenue from challenging covid months.

One of the best things that's happened since the start of the pandemic has been the increase in outside dining. Retaining this is something the city should support for quality of life and to attract diners to the area. Outdoor crowds create a center of gravity and vibrancy to a city center . Sure,
there are some minor trade offs but in general, its a big economic win for the city at large. betsy eppling

During the height of COVID, San Diego extended outdoor dining in the Gaslamp District as well as in Little Italy. It was so popular, that the City just extended the street dining for two years. Napa should follow suit, as it really helps the local businesses and it is a treat for their patrons.

I support this closure because I feel that It helps a lot of the companies in that area. It gives customers options to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful view of napa. I also feel that since it is a small section that is closed off it doesn't really effect the traffic at all.

Please keep Main St. Closed . The closing of the street has been so good for tourism and for the restaurants. It adds so much charm to downtown and draws in customers and business. In addition, since LE does nothing about the very loud muscle cars that disturb the peace downtown, the closure allows diners to eat in peace. Keeping it closed makes so much sense, opening g it back up, does not. Dawn K.

It’s about time Napa started city planning in favor of people and not cars or real estate developers.

The impact of a walkable street is immeasurable. That 100m or so stretch on Main has drastically ameliorated the feel and draw of downtown Napa. Not only should it remain pedestrian, but more streets in the immediate area should be converted to pedestrian only . It will greatly improve the
caché of Napa and be a boon for all restaurants, shops, and tasting rooms. Not to mention making our air cleaner.

This has been a wonderful amenity for our community. It brings everyone together and provides a safe environment for families and visitors to enjoy our beautiful downtown space. Not having to worry about drivers speeding down Main Street while dining outside and brought a sense of security and encourages our family to continue supporting our local businesses. Please consider our comments and request to keep the main street blocked to traffic.

There is zero reason to open up Main St between 2nd and 3rd to thru traf fic again. Locals and
tourists alike love having more table space for all the restaurants Napkins, ZuZu, Taberna and
AVOW. It’s safer, allows for more taking advantage of the beautiful weather we have here year- round, and gives us more of a European feel that we so desperately need Gary Galindo

This street promenade creates a space that makes Napa stand apart and provides a community aspect that you wouldn’t be able to do anywhere else. Please leave this small block in front of the park as is. Community is everything. Prior to this, only guys with loud cars and motorcycles would drive by and show off how loud and annoying their toys are, now that’s gone, please keep this space open.

We are frequent visitors to Napa, and the closure of this block to traffic has been one of the most positive things to happen in downtown Napa. To leave this block closed to traffic brings to mind the wonderful town squares in many towns in Europe where people congregate all day long to dine, play, meet with friends, and carry on business. More American towns need this kind of pedestrian space, and Napa, with it’s wine and food scene, is the perfect community for this. The location of the park on that block makes it especially perfect.

Keep the small town - community feel by keeping these streets closed, for al fresco dining and strolling. You incorporate a warm European feel by keeping people together. Having visited other towns like Santa Barbara, Healdsburg the outdoor vibe is warm and inviting. Dear City Council.

For all the problems of Covid, we have one happy discovery: dining on the street in our beautiful town. The outside dining has added a level of grace to life in Napa that can’t be gained in any other way. This is why Napaans go to Europe! and why foreigners feel so happy in Napa. Keep it open, the Napans will celebrate you, and the world will more happily come to Napa! Positive all around!! Thank you for your consideration,
John Kongagaard and my family who have been here since the 1850s.

The outdoor space on Main street, across form the park is the BEST improvement to the flow and
"walkability" to downtown since the construction of the flood control for the river! The Napa Valley ,
in it's unique way, offers a "European style" experience which is accentuated by the outdoor dining and pedestrian friendly changes that were made to Main street as a result of the pandemic PLEASE keep those positive changes to enhance the "quaintness" of Napa.

As a side note I drive through the city of Napa frequently and the minor traf fic flow adjustment that
resulted from this fantastic space is a NON ISSUE! AND there are numerous parking options close by!

The pedestrian way with al fresco dining is one of the only good things to come from Covid. It opens our beautiful downtown to the outdoors. Many of the great small towns of the world devote space for these kinds of pedestrian areas, as it makes city centers more alive and exciting. Please keep this new treasure! And I hope we can find more ways to add further outdoor pedestrian areas for strolling and al fresco dining.

As both a local and a salesmen to the local businesses, having this section of Main St has been fantastic for all businesses downtown. The closure of this part of Main St. is not only important to the restaurants, but to the influx of locals and tourists alike who have been utilizing Veterans park SO much more since the street closure. I see so many more families with small children running around playing and having picnics. Musicians playing under the trees and dance classes by the river. Before, cars would race down Main daily, making the enjoyment of the park much more dangerous, especially for children. Our Mayor , Mr.

Sedgley has a son who was my night school teacher many years ago, dedicating his time and energy to the local teens. Our Mayor himself was once a member of our local Fire Dept. protecting and serving our beautiful community. I think it's safe to say that they care deeply for the youth and value family time and know how important it is to have a safe place for our local families and children to come and run around the park and feel safe doing so, knowing they are safe from traf fic.

Please, keep this part of Main St. closed not just for the local restaurants, but for the Napa community. We have gone this long with it closed.... Let's please keep it that way. Thank you for your time.

Napa is a culinary Mekka for millions of visitors every year. We need that outdoor dining to accommodate them and make our town more enjoyable. The revenue for the restaurant owners and their employees should be also taken under consideration- especially after 2 years into Covid and all the signs of the recession we’ve been facing.

I love bringing friends from out of town to enjoy all of Downtown Napa’ s new al fresco dinning, but
most of all the 800 block of Main Street. It’s made that whole area so much more walkable and enjoyable. It needs to remain.

We need safe areas for the community to gather.

I am a 25 year home owner in Old Town that is disheartened to what is happening with the traffic and dangerous crosswalk situations. Locals and tourists can park in the lots and walk.

Also, having the seating outside is great for the restaurant operators and guest! They do this all over
Europe!!!

I absolutely love having that street closed down near the park. It’ s such a nice piece of mind to
know that no car is going to speed around the corner 40 miles an hour while my child and I Play and picnic in the park regularly. I also think having that walk-through space is an asset to the tourist as it attracts a lot of people, they enjoy the openness of the restaurants continuing all the way into the park.

As a local in Napa, I absolutely love having Main street closed. It gives downtown a homie and safe feel. It allows people to walk back and forth from the park to dif ferent restaurants without worrying
about getting hit by a car. As you know cars drive extremely fast downtown and having Main street closed gives people a sense of safety. I like how you can dine outside under the stars and especially enjoy the Summer nights.

I have visited Napa multiple times over the past two years and have thoroughly enjoyed the option of dining al fresco on Main Street. The beauty and sounds of that section is unmatched, and to have the ability to look at the river and hear the liveliness of Napa is unmatched in wine country . I have
also had numerous customers and family members who were pleasantly surprised by the al fresco option.

This has been a very positive addition to the Napa experience - please keep it as an option for all of us!

I do business in Napa with multiple restaurants on this block. There is plenty of parking around the block, and the revenue generated from the additional seating out front is a huge part of survival during Covid and in a post Covid world where restaurant owners are struggling the keep the doors open. The minor convenience for vehicles gained by re-opening this block to traffic is negligible.

Promote walking, promote culture, promote fun, promote local businesses. Please keep this block closed.

"The street feels afer and encourages more people to dine at our restaurants Downtown. It also looks so much better. Amazing vibe down there now! Year round dining out is available at world class destinations in Europe. It’s a fitting look for Downtown Napa." Kelly Mitchell

"This is such a great idea that should be continued as a part of downtown Napa's response to Covid.

Reminds me of European streets free of traffic, and it allows restaurants to survive in the pandemic while giving locals options for outdoor dining."

"I lived in Napa for 10 years and love all of it's restaurants.

They are struggling to stay afloat right
now and they need the outside dining! Also, al fresco dining is fun and feels so much safer for everyone. It will bring more life to downtown Napa. It's working great in SF and I hope to see it continue in Napa."
