CANDIDATE FOR EACH OF TWO CITY COUNCIL OFFICES TO BE
ELECTED
I, Tiffany Carranza City Clerk of the City of Napa, do hereby certify the facts set forth in this certification, pursuant to California Elections Code section 10229. The following facts relate to the General Municipal Election to be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022:
As of the close of the nomination period on Friday, August 12, 2022, there is only one candidate for each of the offices to be elected: one Councilmember from District 1, and one Councilmemberfrom District 3.
The persons so nominated are:
Liz Alessio, District 1, Four-year Term
Mary Luros, District 3, Four-year Term
Elections Code section 10229 allows one of the following courses of action to be taken by the City Council:
1. Appoint to each office the person who has been nominated.
2. Hold the election.
A notice of these facts will be published on August 17, 2022 in a newspaper of general circulation in the City pursuant to Government Code section 6061. After the fifth day following the date of publication, the City Council will meet to either make the appointment(s) or direct an election to be held. The person(s) appointed, if any, shall qualify and take office and serve exactly as if elected at a municipal election for the office.
If, by the 75th day before the General Municipal Election, no person has been appointed to the office(s) pursuant to (1) or (2) above, the election shall be held.
If the City Council makes an appointment pursuant to Elections Code section 10229, the City Clerk shall not accept for filing any statement of write-in candidacy which is submitted after the^appointment^s made.

Yo, Tiffany Carranza secretaria municipal de la ciudad de Napa, por la presente certifico los hechos expuestos en esta certificacion, de conformidad con la seccion 10229 del codigo electoral de California. Los siguientes hechos se relacionan con la eleccion municipal general que se llevara a cabo el martes 8 de noviembre de 2022:
Al cierre del periodo de nominacion el viernes 12 de agosto del 2022, solo hay un candidate para cada uno de los cargos a elegir: un concejal del distrito 1 y un concejal del distrito
3. Las personas asi nominadas son:
Liz Alessio, distrito 1, termino de cuatro ahos
Mary Luros, distrito 3, termino de cuatro ahos
La seccion 10229 del codigo electoral permite que el concejo municipal tome uno de los siguientes cursos de accion:
1. Designar para cada cargo a la persona que haya sido nominada.
2. Tener la eleccion.
Se publicara un aviso de estos hechos el 17 de agosto del 2022 en un periodico de circulacion general en la ciudad conforme a la seccion 6061 del codigo de gobierno. Despues del quinto dia siguiente a la fecha de publicacion, el concejo municipal se reunira para hacer el(los) nombramiento(s) u ordenar que se lleve a cabo una eleccion. La(s) persona(s) nombrada(s), si alguna, calificara y asumira el cargo y servira exactamente como si hubiera sido elegida en una eleccion municipal para el cargo.
Si, para el dia 75 antes de la eleccion municipal general, ninguna persona ha sido nombrada para el(los) cargo(s) conforme a (1) o (2) mencionados anteriormente, se llevara a cabo la eleccion.
Si el concejo municipal hace una designacion conforme a la seccion 10229 del codigo electoral, la secretaria municipal no aceptara la presentacion de ninguna declaracion de candida^w^por escnto que se presente despues de que se haya realizado la designacion.
