NOTICE THAT THERE IS ONLY ONE
CANDIDATE FOR EACH OF TWO CITY
COUNCIL OFFICES TO BE ELECTED AT THE
NOVEMBER 8, 2022 GENERAL MUNICIPAL
ELECTION FOR THE CITY OF NAPA
NOTICE IS HERBY GIVEN that pursuant to California
Elections Code section 10229 relating to the General
Municipal Election to be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022:
As of the close of the nomination period on Friday,
August 12, 2022, there is only one candidate for each of the offices to be elected: one Councilmember from District 1, and one Councilmember from District 3.
The persons so nominated are:
Liz Alessio, District 1, Four-year Term
Mary Luros, District 3, Four-year Term
Elections Code section 10229 allows one of the
following courses of action to be taken by the City Council:
1. Appointto each office the person who has been
nominated.
2. Hold the election.
After the fifth day following the date of publication,
the City Council will meet to either make the appointment(s) or direct an election to be held. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 955 School Street, Napa, California.
The person(s) appointed, if any, shall qualify and
take office and serve exactly as if elected at a municipal election for the office.
If, by the 75th day before the General Municipal
Election, no person has been appointed to the office(s) pursuant to (1) or (2) above, the election shall be held.
If the City Council makes an appointment pursuant
to Elections Code section 10229, the City Clerk shall not accept for filing any statement of write-in candidacy which is submitted after the appointment is made.

conformedecodigo electoral de California, a la sec.10229, relative a la eleccion municipal general que se llevara a cabo el martes 8 de noviembre de 2022:
Al cierre del penodo de nominacion el viernes
12 de agosto de 2022, solo hay un candidate para elegirun concejal del distrito 1 y un concejal del distrito 3.
Las personas asi nominadas son:
Liz Alessio, distrito 1, termino de cuatro anos
Mary Luros, distrito 3, termino de cuatro anos
La sec. 10229 del codigo electoral permite que el
concejo municipal tome uno de los siguientes cursos de
accion:
1. Designar para cada cargo a la persona que ha
sido nominada.
2. Tener la eleccion.
Despues del quinto dfa siguiente a la fecha de
publicacion, el concejo municipal se reunira para hacer el(los) nombramiento(3) u ordenar que se lleve a cabo una eleccion.
La reunion se llevara a cabo el martes 23 de agosto del 2022 a las 3:00 p.m. en las camaras del concejo municipal, 955 School Street, Napa, California.
La(s) persona(s) nombrada(s), si alguna, calificara y
asumira el cargo y servira exactamente como si hubiera sido elegida en una eleccion municipal para el cargo.
Si, para el dfa 75 antes de la eleccion municipal,
ninguna persona ha sido nombrada para el(los) cargo(s)
conforme a (1) o (2) mencionados anteriormente, se llevara a cabo la eleccion.
Si el concejo municipal hace una designacion
conforme acodigo electoral, sec. 10229, la secretaria
municipal no aceptara la presentacion de ninguna declaracion de candidatura par escrito que se presents despues de que se haya realizado la designacion.
