RESOLUTION R2023-____
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NAPA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, TO APPOINT FINANCE DIRECTOR RAJNEIL PRASAD AS CITY TREASURER WHEREAS, City Charter Section 75 authorizes the City Council to appoint the City Treasurer as an “appointive officer,” and City Charter Section 77 authorizes the City Council to appoint a person serving as Interim Finance Director to also serve as the City Treasurer; and WHEREAS, Napa Municipal Code Section 2.1.12.100 provides for documenting by resolution the consolidation of appointive officers (pursuant to City Charter Section 77); and WHEREAS, on January 17, 2023, the City Council adopted Resolution R2023-001 appointing Deputy Finance Director Rajneil Prasad to serve as the City Treasurer until such time as a permanent Finance Director has been appointed; and WHEREAS, the City Manager has named Rajneil Prasad as Finance Director effective May 6, 2023; and WHEREAS, to maintain a consistent approach to the Council appointment of City Treasurer and document the consolidation of the Finance Director and City Treasurer positions; and WHEREAS, the City Council has considered all information related to this matter, as presented at the public meetings of the City Council identified herein, including any supporting reports by City Staff, and any information provided during public meetings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Napa, as follows:
The City Council hereby appoints Finance Director Rajneil Prasad to serve as City Treasurer.
The City Council hereby finds that the facts set forth in the recitals to this Resolution are true and correct and establish the factual basis for the City Council’s adoption of this Resolution.
This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Napa at a public meeting of said City Council held on the 6th day of June 2023, by the following vote:
