Code Enforcement Officer
Appreciation Week
October 8-14, 2023
WHEREAS, Code Enforcement Officers provide for the safety, health and welfare of the City of N apa residents through the handling of various issues related to building, zoning, housing, environmental, health and life safety; and WH
EREAS, Code Enforcement Officers have challenging and demanding roles and often do not receive recognition for the job they do in improving the quality of life for the residents and businesses within the City of Napa; and
WH
EREAS, the role of Code Enforcement Officers has expanded in recent years due to the need to increasingly rely on their expertise and training; and WH
EREAS, Code Enforcement Officers are dedicated, highly qualified and trained professionals who share the goals of preventing neighborhood deterioration, enhancing communities , and ensuring safety, and preserving property values through knowledge, training and application of appropriate laws; and WH
EREAS, Code Enforcement Officers have a highly visible role in the City of Napa and regularly interact with the public and a variety of local officials; and WH
EREAS, the City of Napa wants to recognize and honor Code Enforcement Officers and acknowledge their role in leading the way to improve quality of life within our community.

W, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that I, Scott Sedg ley , Mayor of the City of Napa, along with the City Council, do hereby proclaim October 8 – 14 as Code Enforcement Officer Appreciation Week in the City of Napa.
