PROCLAMATION
National Little League Month
WHEREAS, Little League Baseball and Softball, founded in 1939, has become the world’s largest organized youth sports program, serving millions of children each year by teaching the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, perseverance, and respect; and WHEREAS, Napa Little League, established in 1984, has proudly served the youth of Napa for over four decades, offering a safe and inclusive environment where children can develop not only baseball skills but also lifelong character and community pride; and WHEREAS, the success of Little League in Napa is made possible by our Parks and Recreation department and the tireless efforts of dedicated volunteers, coaches, parents, along with our community partners who give their time and energy to help young athletes succeed both on and off the field; and WHEREAS, National Little League Month in September provides an opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of players, recognize the invaluable contributions of volunteers, and highlight the positive impact Little League has on families and neighborhoods across our city; and WHEREAS, the City of Napa is proud to recognize the importance of Little League as a cornerstone of youth development, fostering leadership, confidence, and teamwork in future generations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that I, Scott Sedgley, Mayor of the City of Napa, along with the City Council, do hereby proclaim September 2025 as National Little League Month in the City of Napa and encourage all residents to celebrate and support the mission and values of Little League Baseball and Softball.
