• Filled 4,200 potholes / 1,360 staff hours
• Addresses community requests within a
week
• Frequently patrols major corridors (ex.

• Techniques for repairs:

1. Asphalt “hot mix” material - from plant
(not always available), cannot stockpile,
must be dry weather & relatively warm,
most durable

2. Mastic material - rented equipment and
purchase of specialized material, must be
dry to apply, very durable-experience over
two winter seasons

3. Cold mix material - only material that can
be placed when wet & cold, fills hole but
not durable

Petition to Prevent
Traffic Changes on Lincoln Avenue
Napa City Public Works Department is purposing significant changes to Lincoln Avenue by converting 2 lanes of traffic in each direction to 1 lane of traffic in each direction. There will be a center lane for left turns.

The goal is to improve safety by:

1. Slowing down traffic

2. Creating more efficient bike and pedestrian lanes

3. Improve vehicle street parking
These changes will take place from California Blvd. to Soscol Avenue.

We, the undersigned, feel these changes will make the traffic situation worse for the I isted reasons:

1. Lincoln is a major street linking Hwy 29 to Jefferson Street, Main Street, Soscol Avenue and Silverado Trail.

2. Lincoln Avenue is used to unburden the heavy traffic on Trancas Street and lmola Avenue.

3. Large delivery trucks exit or enter Hwy 29 using Lincoln Avenue. A large truck would take up the single lane, backing up traffic (because there is no other option). This could cause traffic to back up into major street intersections.

4. Traffic back-up could happen on Hwy 29 exit ramp to Lincoln.

5. With heavier traffic on Lincoln Avenue, drivers may use the side streets through neighborhoods, increasing the risk of accidents involving children, pets and the elderly.

Note: Few high school students ride bikes to school. Most students walk or come in a vehicle.

Please help protect the efficiency of Lincoln Avenue by signing this petition. Let's work together to find cost effective and sustainable solutions that respect the needs of the community.
