RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NAPA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA (1) APPROVING AND ACCEPTING THE GRANT AGREEMENT AMENDMENT TO THE CALIFORNIA OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY SELECTIVE TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM (STEP) GRANT FOR FY 2025-2026 IN THE AMOUNT OF $30,000.00; (2) AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF POLICE TO EXECUTE THE GRANT AGREEMENT AMENDMENT; AND WIT (3) APPROVING REVENUE AND EXPENDITURE BUDGET INCREASES OF $30,000 IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT’S SPECIAL REVENUE GRANTS FUND FOR A GRANT TOTAL AMOUNT OF $243,000 FOR FISCAL YEAR 2025-2026.
WHEREAS, the Napa Police Department, in an effort to improve public knowledge of police traffic enforcement procedures, the City of Napa received additional funding for the California Office of Traffic Safety STEP grant; and WHEREAS, the Napa Police Department was awarded additional grant funds in the amount of $30,000,00 increasing the total amount awarded to $243,000 for fiscal year 2025-2026 and WHEREAS, the City Council has considered all information related to this matter, as presented at the public meetings of the City Council identified herein, including any supporting reports by City Staff, and any information provided during public meetings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Napa, as follows:
The City Council hereby finds that the facts set forth in the recitals to this Resolution are true and correct and establish the factual basis for the City Council’s adoption of this Resolution.
The City Council hereby approves and accepts the State of California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) Grant amendment for the additional grant funds in the amount of $30,000 for a total of $243,000 and authorizes the Chief of Police to execute the OTS Grant Agreement Amendment on behalf of the City.
The City Council hereby approves the budget adjustment in the Police Department’s Special Revenue Grants Fund for fiscal year 2025-2026, increasing the revenue and expenditure budgets in an amount of $30,000.00 increasing the total grant budget to $243,000 as documented in Council Budget Amendment No.560P09 (attached hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated herein by reference).
This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Napa at a public meeting of said City Council held on the 7th day of April 2026, by the following vote:
