NATIONAL CITY
LAS PALMAS POOL
FY 2024
Las Palmas Pool
Our mission is to serve the city of National
City through programs that enrich the
community by focusing on water safety,
fitness, and the overall well-being of our
participants.
Since reopening the pool in February of 2016
we have served nearly 17,000 unique
individuals with our programs and services,
9000 of those being National City residents,
and strive to continue growing that number
in the years to come.
SWIM LESSON
PROGRAM
Providing opportunities for all ages to learn to swim.
A DEEP DIVE
Swim lessons tailored to all ages and skill
levels
We strive to reach participants of all ages and skill
levels with our swim lessons, ensuring we provide
the knowledge and skills necessary to be safe in
and around the water.
Through our swim lessons, and the 3rd grade Learn
to Swim program, we have been able to reach
nearly 3000 resident youth in the community, and
hope to continue to reach even more in the years to
come.
To continue the education of the youth as they age
up, we are looking to expand our scope through a
partnership with Sweetwater High School to create
an aquatic physical education program.

NOT JUST
ANOTHER
FITNESS CLASS
Come for class, stay for the
camaraderie
Our group exercise classes focus to
help our participants work on both
their physical and mental health. With
decades of experience, we work to
promote physical fitness, while
encouraging and motivating
participants to reach their goals and
shoot for new ones.
Through these classes (and quarterly
potlucks!) we have created a
community of individuals who come
not just for class, but to spend time
with friends and family.

PROGRAMS
IN
DEVELOPMENT
New ways to educate, involve, and promote aquatics in the community
YOUTH SWIM TEAM
Within the past few years we have seen more kids and teens within our swim lesson program progress to higher skill levels, and have determined that the next step in their growth, as well as ours, is to develop a swim team.
The swim team will continue to support these participants as they grow, and generate more athletes within the community to help grow and sustain Sweetwater High Schools aquatics programs.
By offering competitive and non-competitive options, we will be able to fit the needs and skill levels of all of our participants Continued development and growth of youth
swimmers
YOUTH WATER
POLO
Water polo is one of the least played sports within the community, which is reflected by the number of
athletes at Sweetwater high school, who have no
boys team and a girls team that just completed their
third season as an official team.
Our goal is to continue to expose the youth to water
polo and to generate more athletes within the city to
support Sweetwater’s aquatic sports.
A new generation of athletes in
National City
MASTERS SWIM
TEAM
Masters swim team is a great way for
intermediate to advanced adult
swimmers to continue to develop their
swimming skills through coached
workouts.
Whether they are looking for a
competitive or non-competitive option,
masters swim provides swimmers with a
chance to swim with workouts tailored to
fit their individual skills, while making
making friends and having fun.
