Due to the fact that the City of National City has not taken seriously the important task of adopting the Implementation Plan of the Local Coastal Plan, the request to approve any project like the storage of Propane Gas in a 30,000 gallon tank should be postponed or denied outright. The risks are too high, the analysis is too superficial, the goals are simply revenue oriented. National City can have better development in all zones. Please deny this application. for Notice of Decision – Planning Commission Certification of a Negative Declaration and Approval of a Conditional Use Permit and Coastal Development Permit for Liquified Petroleum Gas Storage and Dispensing to be Located at 2100 Haffley Avenue. in Regular City Council Meeting 4/7/2026 6:00:00 PM

Good evening Mayor and Council Members,
My name is Wendy Egan, and I’m a local community member and nonprofit founder here in National City.
I’m speaking today on behalf of a local business working to invest in our community at a commercial space on 8th Street. Aunautic, has been actively trying to move this project forward, but they’ve encountered significant challenges navigating the city’s permitting and plan access process.
From what we understand, there have been delays and barriers in accessing existing building drawings information that is critical for architects and engineers to safely and accurately develop plans for mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems. Without access to this information, projects stall, costs increase, and small businesses are left in limbo.
This isn’t just about one project—this affects economic growth, local investment, and the ability for businesses to open their doors .
We respectfully ask for:
Clear guidance on how applicants can access existing building records Improved communication between departments and applicants A streamlined, transparent process that supports—not delays—responsible development National City has so much potential, and we want to continue seeing businesses thrive here.
But for that to happen, the process needs to be accessible, efficient, and collaborative.
Thank you for your time and for supporting our local business community.
