Mayor and City Council: The following "Wish List" is submitted for your consideration. Lee Pearl, Balboa Island BIIA local government liason.
INFRASTRUCTURE
•Feasibility study and recommendations: Off Island parking for visitors, contractors, Marine Avenue and Agate employees. Study to include private or public/private options and shuttle service options.
*Continued efforts on seawall replacement, flood/pump automation system, and other island infrastructure.
*Street and alley replacement after the completion of the underground utility projects. Park Avenue road and median improvements.
OTHER
•Study designated bike routes and signage to allow the most positive and safest possible experience for visitors and bike riders.
•Signage at the ferry and Marine Avenue with information kiosks about the Island and directions to Marine Avenue Business District and the ferry. •Determine methods to force stops at critical north and south bayfront alley stop signs. Pilot project at Ruby North bayfront near the kid's beach and any other areas determined by City Engineering for safety of residents and visitors. •Bridge jumping signage better placed where the jumpers are jumping with stronger language Big Island bridge and Little Island bridge. Removal of ineffective signage.
