ORDINANCE SUMMARY
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on February 13, 2024, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach, California, introduced an Ordinance entitled:
ORDINANCE NO. 2024-4
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH,
CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE TERMINATION OF DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT NO.2008-005 (ZONING IMPLEMENTATION AND PUBLIC BENEFIT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AND SOBER LIVING BY THE SEA, INC.) (PA2008-199) The Ordinance would terminate Development Agreement No. 2008-005, a Zoning Implementation and Public Benefit Agreement that allowed Sober Living by the Sea to utilize up to 204 residential care facility beds throughout the City for drug and alcohol recovery.
This Ordinance was introduced by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach, California, at a regular meeting thereof on the 13'h day of February, 2024, by the following vote:
AYES: Mayor Will O'Neill, Mayor Pro Tern Joe Stapleton, Councilmember Brad Avery, Councilmember Noah Blom, Councilmember Robyn Grant, Councilmember Lauren Kleiman, Councilmember Erik Weigand
NAYS: None
Second reading of Ordinance No. 2024-3 will occur at the February 27, 2024 City Council meeting. If adopted on February 27, 2024, the Ordinance shall become final and effective 30 days after adoption.
