RE. City Council Session of March 11, 2025- Item 4. On the Agenda Consent Calendar re.
Mayor Stapleton, Mayor Protem Kleiman and Members of the Council:
We understand that the City Council is bringing forward an Ordinance regarding Expansion of the Safety Enhancement Zone and Increased Enforcement Measures during designated holidays.
We support the idea of increasing the geographic scope and enforcement measures--- long overdue and much needed and appreciated.
As residents in the Central Balboa Peninsula and Peninsula Point, we assume that the City will afford the same level of service and protection to these residential communities as it proposes to extend to Corona del Mar and West Newport.
We request the City’s public clarification and confirmation that it will provide the same level of service and protection to Central Balboa Peninsula and Peninsula Point ,including the consistent and equitable application of the proposed amended Ordinance to the above-mentioned impacted residential communities.
