Pre-Construction Plan Review: Perform a technical review ofthe grading plans and foundation plans forthe Projectby Consultant’s provided Geotechnical Engineer (GE) and CertifiedEngineering Geologist (CEG). Prepare a letter documenting a review of each plan set, includingsignature and stamp, as needed.

Pre-Construction Meeting: Consultant’sprojectmanager and/or fieldoperations manager shallattend pre construction meetings with representatives of the contractors/sub-contractorsand constructionmanagement team to establishany siteaccess restrictions, points of contact, protocolforscheduling services, and distributionlistfor Daily FieldReports (DFRs) and testresults.

Geotechnical Field Observation and Testing: Consultant’s soiltechnicians shallprovide periodicand continuous geotechnical observations and testingduring sitepreparation, overexcavation, and fillplacement during earthwork construction, and general sitegrading. The frequency of observation and testingrequired shallbe established by the governing agency and the projectinspector at the pre-construction meeting. In-situdensity testingshallbe performed using a nuclear moisture/density gauge (ASTM D 6938).

Geotechnical laboratory Testing: Geotechnical (soil)laboratory testingof selected onsite or import soilsamples shall be performed to evaluate theirgeotechnical characteristics.

Project Management: Consultant shall review DFRs and laboratory test results, and prepare reportsfor distribution.

Geotechnical concerns encountered in the field and noted inthe dailyreports, and any materialtested and found to not conform to projectspecifications, shallbe brought to City’sattention.Consultant’sCertifiedEngineering Geologist shallprovide supervision, qualityreview, and project management. Hard copies of the DFRs shallbe made available to Cityupon request.
