Years ago this was a hot topic with lots of reaction from the public. The agreement was an acceptance of both parties.

Included was a 2 percent increase each year.

To break this contract now is not in good faith.

Dear Newport Beach City Council,
I am writing to express my strong support for holding the International Film Festival 2026 Miracle Makers Media in Newport Beach.

We need more family-friendly, uplifting venues especially at a time when much of the world is struggling to remain positive. This festival presents a wonderful opportunity for this community to shine by promoting creative, supportive, dramatic real life entertainment.

Beyond the cultural benefits, hosting this event offers great venues and provides vital support to the surrounding businesses of the Newport Beach community.

Thank you for your time and for considering the positive impact this festival brings to your city.

Best regards,
Ann Miracle

To Whom It May Concern,
My name is Nikki Hevesy, and I have previously participated in—and been honored as a winner at—the Miracle Makers International Film Festival.

I understand there is an opportunity for the festival to expand into Newport Beach and potentially receive support from the city. I truly cannot think of a more meaningful cultural investment or community asset for Newport Beach to support.

Erin and her team consistently present a welcoming, professional, and high-quality festival experience that attracts filmmakers, artists, and audiences from around the world. Miracle Makers is not only an international platform for creative voices, but also a family-friendly event that fosters inspiration, connection, and community engagement in for audiences of all ages.

Bringing this festival to Newport Beach would generate tourism, local business revenue, and increased visibility for the city while also enriching the cultural life of the community. Beyond the economic benefits, the festival creates opportunities for meaningful dialogue, artistic collaboration, and community-building through film and storytelling.

I strongly encourage the city to place Miracle Makers International Film Festival at the top of its list for grant funding and support. This investment benefits not only filmmakers and artists but also the residents and businesses of Newport Beach, helping position the city as a welcoming destination for arts, culture, and international creative exchange.

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

To whom it may concern,
I support grant funding for Miracle Makers International Film Festival. The festival brings uplifting faith and family friendly entertainment, arts, and media programming to Newport Beach while also welcoming open categories that encourage collaboration and broad community engagement.

I have known Erin Miracle since she was 12 years old doing a stage production with myself in "Annie". I could not imagine a better allocation of grant funding.

Hello,
My name is Jon Earnest and I am a writer/ director based out of Los Angeles.

I met Erin Miracle with the Miracle Makers International Film Festival earlier this year, and I am in full support of having this festival come to the Newport area.

I have a Faith Based/ True Crime feature film in development myself and believe that the Miracle Makers International Film Festival would be a perfect venue to not only have my feature showcased, but many others as well.

I believe the festival will be a perfect platform for bringing more inspirational and faith-based content to audiences from filmmakers from all walks of life.

Not only will the festival be a way of bringing more filmmakers to the area, but it will also drive up revenue for local businesses such as hotels and restaurants in the Newport area.

Although there are festivals in the Los Angeles area, the Miracle Makers International Film Festival would be a great way to get filmmakers like myself to explore venues outside of L.A., and not only that, but because the festival has recently become a member of the International Film Festival Cinetour based in Rome, Italy, there is also the potential for filmmakers all over the world to come to Newport to showcase their work and bring a new tourism and vibrancy to the city.

I thank you for your time and any support that can be given to this festival will surely pave the way for new opportunities for not just up-and-coming artists but the city of Newport as well.

Sincerely,
Jon Earnest

Good morning!
I am writing to express my strong support for the Miracle Makers Film Festival planned for Newport. The festival’s focus on family-friendly, uplifting, motivational films and art is something our community greatly values and supports.

I work with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), a world wide non-profit since 1954, and we plan to bring students and families to attend through carpools. Our athletes are especially excited to watch inspiring films centered on sports, teamwork, sportsmanship, perseverance, and caring for one another. Many of our athletes have already submitted documentaries and other art.

In addition, FCA is inviting athletes, families, and supporters from around the country to attend the festival. We already have commitments from FCA members in Nashville, Oregon, Washington State, Louisiana, and Northern California who plan to attend if the festival moves forward. These visitors will stay in local hotels, dine in Newport restaurants, and shop locally, providing meaningful support to the community and local economy. Our athletes are very excited to possibly visit Newport! We believe the Miracle Makers Film Festival will be a positive and enriching event for families, students, athletes, and the entire Newport community. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or for any information! Sincerely,
Dawn Pellerin

To the Newport Beach City Council,
I am writing to express my strong support for the Miracle Makers International Film Festival’s grant funding.

Having attended in the past, I’ve seen how much participants enjoy this event. Its unique faith and family- friendly approach creates an uplifting environment that truly brings our community together.

Beyond the entertainment, the festival is a great asset for Newport Beach. It drives significant economic value by bringing in tourism, increasing traffic for local hotels and restaurants, and supporting local businesses through its vendor booths at the Regal Edwards Big Newport. Supporting this festival is an investment in both your local economy and your community’s culture.

From what I understand, this upcoming season the festival is also partnering with additional nonprofits, annd organizations to further expand its public value and increase tourism coming into Newport Beach from outside the city and outside California. These partnerships appear to significantly broaden the festival’s reach and audience beyond traditional film festival attendees alone. Because the festival includes both faith-based and open categories, it attracts a much wider demographic of guests, supporters, creators, families, and community members than a typical niche film event.

I believe these growing partnerships and expanded audience reach make Miracle Makers International Film Festival an even stronger candidate for grant funding this year, and I would expect attendance and economic impact to continue growing substantially.

I hope you will approve their funding request for the upcoming season.

Sincerely,
Nick LaBorde

Newport Beach City Council:

I understand Miracle Makers International Film Festival has applied for a city grant. I recommend funding support for this festival because it would bring meaningful cultural, community, and economic benefits to the area.

While Newport Beach already hosts an established film festival, the Miracle Makers IFF could be a unique addition by focusing on faith-based films and inspirational storytelling, further strengthening Newport Beach’s reputation as a destination that values art, culture, and community engagement.

Additionally, the festival would provide economic benefits to Newport Beach. Film festivals attract regional and out-of-town visitors who support local hotels, restaurants, and retail shops. Increased tourism during the event would generate additional revenue for local businesses. The event could also create temporary employment opportunities for local vendors, production crews, hospitality staff, and event personnel.

Investing in this festival would support Newport's cultural and economic growth.

Thank you,
Best -
Kim

Hello City Council of Newport,
A colleague of mine has told me about the Miracle Makers film festival that is planned for Newport.

There should be attendees from all around the country who have expressed interest in attending as well as potentially submitting films or artwork.

This should be an amazing event and bring a lot of commerce into the city.

Newport should definitely be excited to help support this event in taking off! Thank you for your time,
Kevin Lorick
