Audit Software - We utilizeCaseWare audit software forthe electronicdocumentation of workpapers. We have the abilityto accept audit documentation in eitherhard copy or electronicformat. CaseWare allows us the ability to import trialbalances that can be provided in eitherExcelor a textdocument. Some of the benefitsof using CaseWare trialbalance software are as follows:

We create our own lead sheets (i.e.,analyticalreview comparison schedules). This limitsthe amount of time financestaffspends creatingauditschedules. Our software automaticallygenerates analyticalreview reportsby account number forease of analyzingsignificantfluctuationsbetween fiscalyears.

We can linkthe financialstatement schedules directlyto the CaseWare trialbalances. As a result,we can provide the Citywith financialstatements almost immediately after receivingthe trialbalance from the City.Additionally, journalentriesare easy to post to the financialstatement schedules and the riskof data entry error isminimized.

We can providethe Citywith reportsshowing the coding of the financialstatement schedules for ease of review by Citystaff. These reportsshow each account coded to a specificfinancialstatement lineitem as well as journalentriesthat are posted duringthe audit.

Data Mining Software - We have a dedicated team of personnel trainedto use specialdata mining software,IDEA.

Our software uses source data from your accounting system to search for anomalies, such as duplicateor voided checks,cross-referencingvendor addresseswith employee addresses, detecting accounting transactions recorded on the weekend, reviewingjournalentry postingsforunauthorized individuals. The IDEA software identifiesspecific transactionsforthe auditorsto review for potentialfraud or error.
