1. PUBLIC COMMENTS
There were no public comments at this time.
2. BUDGET WORKSHOP
2.A. Continued Discussion of Preliminary Fiscal Year 2025-26 Operating and Capital Improvement Program Budgets
City Manager Free introduced the Budget Workshop and Finance Director Calhoun presented the report.
Facilities and Maintenance Director Hamilton, IT Manager Boudreaux, and Interim Public Works Director Nelson presented department related projects and answered questions.
Finance Director Calhoun reviewed the previous budget and presented the new reductions and projected budget deficit.
Council Members requested Staff review and make additional reductions to the budget.
City Manager Free and Finance Director Calhoun answered questions and addressed concerns.
Council Members directed Staff to review each of their departments and make the necessary reductions to reduce the deficit, with the exception of public safety and IT and without the use of Measure R funds.

Mayor Newton opened Public Comment.
Bill Naylor spoke regarding having staff bring levels of reductions in 5, 10 and 15 percentages for review. He also spoke regarding backyard trail maintenance and not using funds from the reserve or Measure R.
Mayor Newton closed Public Comment.
Following discussion and direction to Staff to make additional budget reductions in each department to bring back for review at a future workshop, Mayor Newton closed the workshop discussion.
3. ADJOURNMENT
Mayor Newton adjourned the meeting at 11:39 AM.
