RESOLUTION NO. 23-63
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORWALK AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO THE FISCAL YEAR 2023/24
ADOPTED BUDGET TO APPROPRIATE AVAILABLE PROPOSITION C
FUNDING TO PROJECT NO. 7442 – WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT ON PIONEER BOULEVARD FROM 160th TO 166th STREETS
WHEREAS, Project No. 7926 Local Streets Rehabilitation Program Paving Improvements – Phase 1 Zone 32 (Project No. 7926) was to commence construction ahead of City Project No. 7442 Water Main Replacement on Pioneer Boulevard from 160th To 166th Street (Project No. 7442); and
WHEREAS, water main replacement construction under Project No. 7442 will disturb and reduce the service life of new street improvement and pavement work under Project No. 7926; and
WHEREAS, the scope of work to rehabilitate and resurface the streets in conflict was removed from Project No. 7926 and added to Project No. 7442 in anticipation of water main installation; and
WHEREAS, Project No. 7442 utilizes Water Enterprise Funding, and Proposition C (Prop C) proceeds are identified as an available funding source for related and eligible street work; and
WHEREAS, identified Prop C funding is available for eligible street improvement work, be appropriated and utilized only for the additional related street improvement work added to Project No. 7442; and
WHEREAS, the total cost for additional street improvement work unrelated to water main construction added to Project No. 7442, is estimated to be $1,001,500; and WHEREAS, City Council desires to amend the Fiscal Year 2023/24 Budget to allocate $1,001,500 of available Prop C funds to cover costs for additional street improvement work shifted to Project No. 7442.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORWALK HEREBY DETERMINES, FINDS, AND RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to make the following appropriation and prepare the necessary budget amendment for the following account:

Section 2.The Mayor, or presiding officer, is hereby authorized to affix her signature to this Resolution signifying its adoption by the City Council of the City of Norwalk and the City Clerk, or her duly appointed deputy, is directed to attest thereto.
