RESOLUTION NO. 23-72
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORWALK
APPROVING AN APPLICATION FOR OUTDOOR EQUITY GRANTS
PROGRAM GRANT FUNDS
WHEREAS, the State Department of Parks and Recreation has been delegated the responsibility by the Legislature of the State of California for the administration of the Outdoor Equity Grants Program, setting up necessary procedures governing the application; and
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the State Department of Parks and Recreation require the City to certify by resolution the approval of the application before submission of said application to the State; and
WHEREAS, successful Applicants will enter into a contract with the State of California to complete the Grant Scope program, which will consist of outdoor educational programs within the community and in natural area destinations such as regional, state, national park, tribal land, river or lake, beach, forest, mountain or desert area for day or overnight trips within the state.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORWALK HEREBY DETERMINES, FINDS, AND RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.Authorizes staff to file an application for the Outdoor Equity Grants Program administered by the State Department of Parks and Recreation.
Section 2.Certifies that the City has or will have available, prior to commencement of any work on the programs included in this application, sufficient funds to complete the program.
Section 3.Certifies that if the grant is awarded, the City has or will have sufficient funds to operate the programs as described in the Grant Selection Criteria response.
Section 4.Certifies that the City has reviewed, understands, and agrees to the General Provisions contained in the contract shown in the Grant Administration Guide.
Section 5.Delegates the authority to the City Manager to conduct all negotiations, sign, and submit all documents, including, but not limited to applications, agreements, amendments, and payment requests, which may be necessary for the completion of the Grant Scope.
Section 6.Agrees to comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws, ordinances, rules, regulations, and guidelines.

Section 7.The Mayor, or presiding officer, is hereby authorized to affix her signature to this Resolution signifying its adoption by the City Council of the City of Norwalk and the City Clerk, or her duly appointed assistant, is directed to attest thereto.
