RESOLUTION NO. 23-58
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORWALK APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE FISCAL YEAR 2023/24
ADOPTED BUDGET TO APPROPRIATE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
BLOCK GRANT CARES ACT FUNDS FROM THE UNITED STATES
DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT
WHEREAS, the City Council adopted substantial amendments to the Fiscal Year (FY) 2019/20 Annual Action Plan to appropriate Community Development Block Grant coronavirus response (CDBG-CV) funds in the amount of $1,598,280.00; and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined there is a need to use said funds for activities such as homeless assistance, as a response to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19); and
WHEREAS, there is funding available under the CDBG-CV3 grant in FY 2019/20; and
WHEREAS, the City Council approved substantial amendments to the FY 2019/20 Annual Action Plan on May 19, 2020, February 16, 2021, and December 5, 2023; and WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City Council to revise the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) budget to reflect the substantial amendments to the FY 2019/20 CDBG Annual Action Plan adopted on December 5, 2023; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to appropriate the unallocated $206,447.88 needed to fund COVID-19 relief efforts from available CDBG-CV3 funds to the Homeless Assistance activity.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORWALK HEREBY DETERMINES, FINDS, AND RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.The City Manager is authorized to make the following appropriation and prepare the necessary budget amendment for the following account(s):

Section 2.The Mayor, or presiding officer, is hereby authorized to affix her signature to this Resolution signifying its adoption by the City Council of the City of Norwalk and the City Clerk, or her duly appointed assistant, is directed to attest thereto.
