Rich in diversity and culture, the
largest ethnic groups in Norwalk
are Hispanic (59.1%), Asian (13.3%),
White (Non-Hispanic) (10.9%), and
Multi-Racial (7.91%). With a median
age of 35.5, many young families
plant roots in Norwalk due to the
affordable housing and the variety
of amenities the City offers.
The Recreation and Park Services
Department provides a variety of
year-round activities including
community services, youth and
adult services, center and park
activities, and citywide special
events. The youth and adult
services are provided through
excursions, sports and aquatics
programs, athletic leagues, day
camps, holiday events, and a variety
of special activities.
Located 17 miles southeast of Los
Angeles, Norwalk is one of the
most rapidly developing and
growing communities anywhere
in the state of California. Uniquely
located within an expanding
regional transportation center,
residents are conveniently and
centrally located between Los
Angeles and Orange Counties.

The race will take place on Sunday, June 2, 2024 at 8:30 a.m. and is open to 2,000 participants of all ages and skill levels. Children ages 4-12 may register for the Children’s 1k Dash which will begin at 8 a.m. and is open to 500 participants.
Guests may register online at www.norwalk.org/5Krun and in person at the Norwalk Arts and Sports Complex.
Registration for the 5K Run will include a premium race t-shirt, participation medal, chip timing and running bib, as well as access to photo ops, the kids fun zone and more! All guests are invited to visit the Fitness Expo before and after the run to meet local exhibitors, see interactive demonstrations, win fun prizes and get a cool drink or snack at one of the onsite food trucks. At the end of the run, prizes will be presented to the winners in each race category.
The goal of the 5K Run is to encourage and foster health and wellness within the city of Norwalk. This first-of-its-kind event will be open to all ages and skill levels.
From beginner to professional, residents are invited to bring their families and and friends and join the #RunNorwalk community.
