TO: Honorable City Council

BY: Glen W.C. Kau, P.E., Director of Public Services/City Engineer Jacqueline Koontz, P.E., Senior Civil Engineer
SUBJECT: RENEWAL OF GENERAL SERVICES AGREEMENT
Background:
The current General Services Agreement (GSA) between the City and the County of Los Angeles (County) was approved June 1, 2019 and scheduled to expire on June 30, 2024.
The GSA enables cities and other public entities to receive miscellaneous services from the County on an “as-needed” basis. These services can include such functions as predatory animal control, prosecution of city ordinances, direct assessment collection, and a variety of public works activities. The agreement places the City under no obligation but does provide the necessary means to request any needed contract services. Specific and ongoing services, such as law enforcement Los Angeles County Sheriff Department (LASD) are handled separately by the responsible County departments through individual service agreements.
